In whom do you place your trust? So I was in a taxi a few days ago that took me to the airport. From there, I got on a flight and much like the cab driver, I didn’t think twice about the pilots in whose hands I was placing my life. In fact, I watched a documentary on elephants and fell asleep.
But as I got off the plane, it got me thinking about how much trust we place in the hands of total strangers; from cab drivers, to pilots, to chefs in restaurants. Name it, we seem to have little to no issue placing our lives in the hands of people who, if we further interrogated their history, we may not be as quick to surrender to.
But when it comes to trusting the one person that is closest to us, ourselves…ah…na there everything dey go voicemail o! Na wa!
Those are my thoughts of the day. Do with them as you will. Blessings!

Trust of self goes hand in hand with trust of the dignity within each of us, as well as trust of our internal intuition, that internal compass, that is intended to steer us to all that is good.
That ability to discern, i.e., to replicate the mind of God on the earth, is the primary factor that, if clouded by trauma, fear or even self doubt, starts to erode our innate ability to trust ourselves.
We must do the hard work of quieting the noise and finding our way back to that often still, small voice that is always pointing us to truth. Because every time we place more trust in others than we do in ourselves, we betray our own voice.
So maybe it’s time to pause and to ask yourself this poignant question: in whom do I place my trust? If you’re not on that list, perhaps it’s time to take some commercial flying lessons.
Those are my thoughts of the day. Do with them as you will. Blessings!
