THAT IN-BETWEEN, IN THE MEANTIME SPACE

In the meantime…that hard space between what we know will be and what currently is; between the known and the now; the here but not yet. I’ve been there several times in my life and it was agonising.

And so if you’re in that “in the meantime” in-between space, I see you. And so I offer some of what helped me get through it.

  1. Continued to do what I was currently doing and doing it well. Yes, it was tempting to give into the languishing, the vacillating between hope and hopelessness but continue to do well so you can end well.
  2. I used the time to prepare for what I knew was to come. Write the vision, and make it plain. Is there a course to take, mentoring to be done, books to be read?


E be like say na Bruce Lee talk say: when the student don ready, na then the master go appear.

Biko, use the time to prepare.

 3. Begin to live as though you are in the space you strive to be in. Practice holding the emotions, breathe life into that posture, and meditate on it. It is not what it is. It is what you say that is.

 4. Start small. If your goal is to do capital X, start with little x. What can you start to do in the direction of your ultimate reality? Even small steps are steps nonetheless.

 5. And finally, cultivate your network of support that will stand with you to encourage and keep you one directional.
